| | Outlook Express 6.0 - messages duplicated upon send I have several desktops on this computer. For some reason one of them has an issue with sending mail. Every mail sent from the address is received in duplicate. I've verified that using mail directly from webmail doesn't duplicate the sent mail. I can't find any setting that allows me to quit duplicating messages. People receiving messages from me are getting a bit angry about it. Any suggestions? -- Always looking for answers |

| | Re: Outlook Express 6.0 - messages duplicated upon send Any chance the account settings were duplicated? Duplicate account settings has proven to be a fairly common problem. The other common cause for email duplication is an Anti Virus application setup to scan email, something you don't need or want on your PC (Anti Virus applications, yes, but not their email scanners, as most cause more data loss and system downtime that the malware they're supposed to keep out). | | Re: Outlook Express 6.0 - messages duplicated upon send [crossposted to OE General] Assuming Outlook Express (not Windows Mail)... 1. OE Tools | Accounts | Mail | [account] | Properties | Advanced | Break apart messages larger than... (uncheck/disable). 2. Disable email scanning (outgoing and incoming) by your anti-virus application. Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Client - since 2002 kdietz1 wrote: Quote: > I have several desktops on this computer. | | Re: Outlook Express 6.0 - messages duplicated upon send Thank you, it did duplicate somehow. Would you believe that is the one thing I hadn't checked. -- Always looking for answers "Hal Hostetler [MVP-P/I]" wrote: Quote: > Any chance the account settings were duplicated? | | Re: Outlook Express 6.0 - messages duplicated upon send Thanks for including the information regarding removing anti-virus scanning and why it isn't needed. That was going to be my next question. -- Always looking for answers "PA Bear [MS MVP]" wrote: Quote: > [crossposted to OE General] > > Assuming Outlook Express (not Windows Mail)... > > 1.
