Re: can receive but can't send...

Disable email scanning by your anti-virus application. It provides no
additional protection, it may be causing the error, and even Symantec says
it's not necessary:

<QP>
Disabling Email Scanning does not leave you unprotected against viruses that
are distributed as email attachments. Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect scans
incoming files as they are saved to your hard drive, including email and
email attachments. Email Scanning is just another layer on top of this. To
make sure that Auto-Protect is providing the maximum protection, keep
Auto-Protect enabled and run LiveUpdate regularly to ensure that you have
the most recent virus definitions.
</QP>

Re: can receive but can't send...

AT&T started advising their customers about two years ago to quit
using port 25. You must use the newer settings given here:

Re: can receive but can't send...

As you've since discovered, the Outgoing port must be 465, the Incoming port
must be 995, and SSL should be enabled.

Re: can receive but can't send...

You're very welcome.
No genius, I just happen to be familiar with mail servers.
