Possible to downgrade Vista to XP and take mail folders along?

I've tried Vista and need to give up on it, for now.
Is there some way to reload my Vista mail folders back onto XP and to XP
Outlook?

Thanks,
Walt

That'll work but only if he (a) exports the WinMail data to OL on the Vista
machine, (b) backs up the OL data, and then (c) imports it into OL on the
WinXP computer.

WinMail => OL/Vista =>OL/WinXP, yes.

WinMail => OL/WinXP, no.

Re: Possible to downgrade Vista to XP and take mail folders along?

Only if you export the WinMail data to OL on your Vista computer, back-up
your OL data & then import it into OL on your WinXP computer.

However, you can back-up your WinMail messages (EML files), drag the EML
files into appropriate Outlook Express folders on your WinXP machine and
then export the OE data to OL.

You can export your Vista Contacts to a CSV file which can then be imported
into OL Contacts or (OE) Address Book on your WinXP computer.

Re: Possible to downgrade Vista to XP and take mail folders along?

I should have specified that I'm using Windows Mail on VIsta Home
Premium (which I think corresponds/correlates to the equivalent of
OE). On an XP Pro machine I'd be using OE. So I'm hoping all the
replies here are applicable to this situation as I do not use Outlook
on Vista nor would I look to use it on XP Pro.

Thanks again.

Paragraphs #2 and #3 in my previous reply would apply, Walt/Wally.

Re: Possible to downgrade Vista to XP and take mail folders along?

Thanks.
Only problem I see is that the resulting date/time of *all* messages would
be the same and be of the export/import date/time - NOT the true date/time
of each email.
Bummer....
