| | Windows Mail cannot open when I click on an email attachment Whenever I click on an email attachment for instance when replying to a craigslist item, 2 windows pop up and say that my computer is low on memory or is unstable and the other window says that MSDOE could not be started or something like that because it is busy due to spyware scanning it or something. Any clue how to get it to work?? Thanks |

| | Re: Windows Mail cannot open when I click on an email attachment It would be helpful if you told us what your normal or preferred method of sending email is. That way we can recommend the appropriate workaround for that problem. -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "mamaof4" <mamaof4@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:9E293F6A-7ECE-4298-AFFA-B6F562CC16B4@xxxxxx Quote: > Whenever I click on an email attachment for instance when replying to a > craigslist item, 2 windows pop up and say that my computer is low on memory > or is unstable and the other window says that MSDOE could not be started or > something like that because it is busy due to spyware scanning it or > something. | | Re: Windows Mail cannot open when I click on an email attachment I think you're referring to an email (MailTo) link, not at attachment, yes? Have you ever used Windows Mail or any other Mail Client in Vista to access (i.e., receive, read & send) your email account? -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Client - since 2002 mamaof4 wrote: Quote: > Whenever I click on an email attachment for instance when replying to a > craigslist item, 2 windows pop up and say that my computer is low on > memory > or is unstable and the other window says that MSDOE could not be started > or > something like that because it is busy due to spyware scanning it or > something. | | Re: Windows Mail cannot open when I click on an email attachment I have comcast as my default email so whenever I open windows mail all my new emails upload. I have slways been able to click on an email link to send and email and my email would open up. Now whenever I click on the link like in craigslist to reply 2 boxes pop up, 1 says "The application was unable to open the windows mail message store. Windows mailbox data is currently being used by another progran or wait for it to complete its operation then open windows mail again" and 2nd one says "Windows Mail could not be started because MSOE.DLL could not be initialized" Before this my email was working fine. I don't know what happened. "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: Quote: > It would be helpful if you told us what your normal or preferred method of > sending email is. | | Re: Windows Mail cannot open when I click on an email attachment I assume by "comcast" you mean Comcast's webmail, which is accessed via your browser. Comcast email can also be set up in Windows Mail. Vista doesn't have a built-in mechanism for setting a webmail service as the default email service. Each webmail provider has to make a special provision (utility) to do that. As far as I know, Comcast has not done that. Ask Comcast customer service if they have a solution available. If not, all you can do is copy and paste those links from Craigslist into your webmail screen. If you desire to have your Comcast account set up in Windows Mail, (which will then handle those MailTo web links), see http://www.comcast.com/Customers/FAQ...s.ashx?Id=2288 -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) "mamaof4" <mamaof4@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:1DF089CB-6A35-4C97-BB8D-D764839E4A51@xxxxxx Quote: >I have comcast as my default email so whenever I open windows mail all my new > emails upload.
