Re: cant send mail

Have you ever been able to send from that account & using that SMTP server
when you're connected to your home ISP?

Can you receive messages from that account when you're at home?

Who is your ISP when you are "home".
Most ISP's block sending from port 25 if you are not connected to their server.
If eticocollection.com is not your home ISP you are being blocked.

Send more information and we may be able to help.
Have you contacted eticolollection.com to see if they have a option for sending when not connected to their server?

Re: cant send mail

Looks like you are running into a port 25 block.
As a general rule, the owner of the SMTP server you are using must be
the same as the entity providing your Internet connection at that moment.
For more on this issue see
http://www.postcastserver.com/help/P..._Blocking.aspx

The available workarounds are as follows:

1. Use webmail for sending (via your browser).
2. Ask eticocollection.com' if they have a port other than '25' for SMTP.
3. At home, you can substitute the SMTP server belonging to your home ISP.
This is a bit tricky, but if you want to go that route, I can provide more details.
Just let me know who the home ISP is.

Welcome to the post spam Internet, where ISPs block outbound port 25 to
non-ISP SMTP message submission servers. I tried using the Telnet command at
a Command Prompt (that little black "DOS" box), and found this:

| C:\utils\ns_bench>telnet mail.eticocollection.com 587
| Connecting To mail.eticocollection.com...
| 220 mail.networksolutionsemail.com ESMTP
| quit
| 221 mail.networksolutionsemail.com
|
|
| Connection to host lost.

Telnet is a useful test. Requires that you append a port number, if the
service is not on the Telnet port. According to my test, you can change your
client to use port 587 instead of port 25. I did not test port 465, which is
another viable alternative.

One problem you may encounter with port 587 and Vista Mail: As with MS
Outlook Express, Windows Mail does not allow you to specifically select
"TLS" as a security option ("SSL" is not an exact synonym!) So, if your
server on port 587 requires TLS it may fail. It is possible that your
administrator has set up port 587 to work with SSL. You need to ask your
administrator, if you can't get things working with port 587.

A Command Prompt is not a DOS box. They are totally different; they have
similar appearances since a Command Prompt is only capable of text and a DOS
box is a text-only interface by default, but a DOS box is capable of both
text and graphics and the API supported by a DOS box is totally different. A
Command Prompt uses the Windows API and is capable of doing most everything
a Windows program can do except graphics.
