I can send email in windows live, but can't send most of my emaiol :(

Hi, I read a few other messages on here that dated back a few years,
regarding a similar issue as the one I'm about to mention.

Here is a copy of the error message I am receiving when I try and send
certain email (it seems to only happen when I cut and paste a document
from Microsoft Word and/or try to send email with an attachment of a
Microsoft Word...whether or not this relates to this, I do not know
...)

Here goes:
The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Live Mail", and
read the "I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help
determining the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail
service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was 'Mine'
Subject
Server Error: 550
Server Response: 550 5.1.1 Not our Customer
Server: 'smtp.comcast.net'
Windows Live Mail Error ID: 0x800CCC79
Protocol: SMTP
Port: 587
Secure(SSL): No

I also tried changing to the other port mentioned on this site...starts
w/ a 4 and is 3 #s like the above port # (sorry, not looking at it right
now!)

Anyway, I have some VERY important email I need to send...and
omg...this is so irritating, been working on it now for 2 days , with
NO luck...I will be SO VERY MUCH appreciative to anyone out there that
can help me get my email BACK on track where it belongs LoL!!!

Thanx so much for reading...even if you're unable to help !!!
-Rebecca

Make sure you have send authentication enabled.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Servers.
Enable the "My server requires authentication" option.

If that was already checked, or checking it did not help,
are you using your @comcast.net email address as the 'From'
email address in that Windows Mail account? It almost
sounds like Comcast is objecting to you using a non-Comcast
email address.

You know that in a pinch you can always send via webmail:

Does this problem occur with only one recipient or with all recipients
?

Did you enabled your send authentication? Go to Tools, Accounts, select
that account, Properties, Servers. The box for "My server requires
authentication" must be checked.

Re: I can send email in windows live, but can't send most of my emaiol :(

Hi Mike ,
Thanx for your reply...to answer your question, yes I found the post
on here about setting the authencitation earlier, I checked and double
checked it...I also test emailed my Mother, and a few other people (but
without adding Microsoft material to it..), and they were able to
recieve...so far, that I know if, this has only happend to one other
person. At first I thought it was his server...but he sent himself test
mails...etc.etc..and his checked out ok.
I also noticed this didn't start ocurring until after I had to
uninstall/reinstall my McAfee due to another issue all-together! It may
be I didn't notice the error before then as well..but pretty sure not!

Thanx again
-Rebecca
