Vista - Printing from Windowsmail

I have a new laptop with Vista Home Premium (fully updated) and IE8
where I have Google mail succesfully being downloaded and shown as a
seperate set of folders to the Local folders in Windows mail

The problems occurs if you try to print any of the mails when there is
no sign of anything having happened but when you try to do anything
further with Windows mail it will not respond and requires the use of
task manager to reset it

Where should I be looking for the errors please?
