Watched threads

Hello

I'm using Windows Mail 6.0.6000.16386 (vista_rtm.061101-2205) on Vista Home
Premium SP2. I have an irritating problem with one of the Usenet groups I
subscribe to. I have around 10 threads I'm currently watching, none of them
have any unread messages - however the group is still highlighted in bold
red text in the folders pane.

How do I find out which message is causing this propagation?

Either try Ctrl+H to show only replies to your messages?
Try sorting by the Watched Message column, by clicking on the spectacles, do
this with view by conversation enabled, and disabled, by Left Alt, V, V, G.

Re: Watched threads

This is just a guess, and you seem to know more than I do, but could it be
that there are some spam messages not downloaded? Maybe that would cause the
problem, but I don't know. I assume the thread would be red if it had a
message such as that, and I assume you don't have that happening.

Thanks Steve, your final suggestion found lots of unread messages in a
watched thread which weren't highlighted in the 'normal' view.

Thanks Sam, the thread itself was not highlighted in bold red. All the
unread messages I found using Steve's method were genuine. However for some
reason (I don't understand) they were showing as read in the regular view,
whereas the thread was indicating there were unread messages.

Anyway, problem now solved.

Thanks guys

Thanks for the feedback, that symptom is a failure in web forums not
honoring NNTP threading.
