| | error "Message cant be found" I havea second problem. I now found that, although emails are downloaded from the mail server and listed in the messages window showing Sender's Name, Subject, Date and Message Size, but now all I get is the error message "Message cannot be found, The contents of this message cannot be found." So, although I can download messages, I cant read any. Add this problem with a previous problem of not being able to stop the constant reloading of recovered emails, I am beginning to think I had better delete and reinstall Windows mail. NOT VERY HAPPY BILL !! |

| | Re: error "Message cant be found" That symptom is usually caused by interference from an antivirus program. Which antivirus are you running? As a minimum, email scanning in the antivirus should be turned off, although that may not be sufficient to eliminate all bad effects. In a worst case scenario, your antivirus may need to be uninstalled. Email scanning in any antivirus should be disabled, for reasons explained here: http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm If no improvement after disabling email scanning, consider upgrading to Windows Live Mail, because it is less prone to suffering bad effects from overly intrusive antivirus programs: http://download.live.com/wlmail -- Gary VanderMolen, MS-MVP (Mail) http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/profile/VanderMolen "DacorDave" <DacorDave@xxxxxx> wrote in message news:56C10EE8-5E65-428C-A540-EED5FA7034BC@xxxxxx Quote: >I havea second problem. | | Re: error "Message cant be found" Gary, I am having the same error as DacorDave with "Message cannot be found. The contents of this message cannot be found." My question is whether there is a way to restore or re-link the contents of the message back to the information that is still there. Wouldn't the contents of the email still be somewhere in the Windows Mail filesystem? Thanks, Chester "Gary VanderMolen" wrote: Quote: > That symptom is usually caused by interference from an antivirus > program. | | Re: error "Message cant be found" If the message is still present somewhere in Windows Mail, a repair of the message database may fix it. Try running the various repair functions in the WMUtil program: http://www.oehelp.com/WMUtil If no improvement, upgrade to Windows Live Mail: http://download.live.com/wlmail -- Gary VanderMolen, Microsoft MVP (Mail) http://mvp.support.microsoft.com/def...le/vandermolen "Chester" <Chester@newsgroup> wrote in message news 534EA43-CA77-4ED3-82F1-5806B99A20CB@newsgroupQuote: > Gary, > > I am having the same error as DacorDave with "Message cannot be found.
