It provides no additional protection, it may be causing the problem, and even Symantec says it's not necessary: <QP> Disabling Email Scanning does not leave you unprotected against viruses that are distributed as email attachments. Norton AntiVirus Auto-Protect scans incoming files as they are saved to your hard drive, including email and email attachments. Email Scanning is just another layer on top of this. To make sure that Auto-Protect is providing the maximum protection, keep Auto-Protect enabled and run LiveUpdate regularly to ensure that you have the most recent virus definitions. </QP> http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT...02111812533106 Why you don't need your anti-virus to scan your email http://thundercloud.net/infoave/tuto...ning/index.htm -- ~Robear Dyer (PA Bear) MS MVP-IE, Mail, Security, Windows Client - since 2002 www.banthecheck.com fxrp wrote: Quote: > When I send a email with an .JPG attachment, ms mail sends mulitiple > messages to all recepents but they cannot open the attachment and they > recieve many copies of the email. |

| | Re: Multiple attachments I wish I had read more closely. Have tried it with the email virus scanning on and it still only sends one copy. I don't have this problem on my other 2 systems (both Vista 32, bitdefender 9) but I learned something new. -- fxrp "PA Bear [MS MVP]" wrote: Quote: > YW.
