Minimizing to System Tray

Is it possible to minimize Windows Mail to the system tray like you can with
Outlook and Windows Live Mail?

Re: Minimizing to System Tray

I'm finding myself torn between Live Mail and Windows Mail. I'd rather use
Windows Mail, which is ad-free. But I like that Live Mail can be shrunk to
the system tray, and I like that it's smart about figuring out the SMTP/POP
settings for accounts automatically.

But I guess MS would rather put features in Live Mail that aren't included
in Windows Mail so that folks will use Live and generate ad revenue...

Re: Minimizing to System Tray

Windows Mail does not support this functionality, but I have created an
application which will provide you with a way to control Windows Mail from
the system tray as well as minimize it there.

You can download it at http://www.msblog.org/download/WinMailTray.zip.

Have a great day,

Re: Minimizing to System Tray

I have tried this mail, which is good to use.
You do not open Windows Mail anymore. Instead, you double-click this utility to find a tray icon, which allows you to open up Windows Mail, hide it, and show it, etc.

Just try for yourself.

Thanks. Kristan.

Re: Minimizing to System Tray

Kristan -

I have been using Windows Mail for a while now, and I had wanted a way to
minimize it. Your app works wonderfully, thank you for taking the time to
create it.
