    Hello Akaits,

If you are wanting to set "Windows Mail" back as your default program, then this should be able to help you to.

    Windows Mail Default Associations

    Hope this helps,
    Shawn

Dear Brink. Thank you for your respond. I'm sorry, I should have mentioned that I don't want Windows Mail either. I want Outlook 2003 as a default mail client. Vista doesn’t show Outlook 2003 in Set Your Default Programs panel.

Thank you, Brink. I’m sorry I should have mentioned that I don’t want Windows Mail either.
I used to have Outlook Express as a default mail client, until I installed Live Mail. I still need Live Mail for its picture mail future, but I don’t want to have it as a default. I’ve tried to change association of file protocol and it doesn’t work because Outlook express is not listed in there. It’s also not listed under Set Your Default Program.
I think the only way to fix it is through the Registry.
    Thanks

You can't use Outlook Express in Vista.
If you want to use Outlook 2003 as you stated in another post, just install
it. It will set itself as the default email program.

    Akaits,

This may be able to help with Outlook 2003 instead then to make it the default email client.

You cannot set Outlook 2003 as the default e-mail client on a Windows Vista-based computer

Yes, I can. Outlook 2003 was the default e-mail client untill I accidentaly pushed the button when Live Mail asked me if I want to make it default program. I uninstalled Live Mail and got Outlook back as a default mail program. Than I installed Live Mail and it took over Outlook again. I went to Live Mail options. It says "this aplication is the default mail handler". There is now way to change it. I'm sure, there is way to fix it through the registry. I would appreciate it if you can help me.

Thank you, Brink. I haven't seen what was in the link.
I tried both Methods: Run Outlook as Administrator & Reinstalled Outlook. Neither one worked. Is there anything else I can try?
