| | Possible email migration tutorial? (Maybe for Steve?) I'm about ready to use my RC2 as my primary OS. Still dual booting with XP. I see many posts about moving Address Books, Contacts, messages, etc. from OE and Outllok to Vista mail. Is there sort of a "How to" out yet? I can read it in bits and pieces, mostly answered by our illustrious MVP Steve C. Pete |

| | Re: Possible email migration tutorial? (Maybe for Steve?) Well, I would never use a beta as the primary OS. There were too many changes between it and the final, and I wouldn't suggest updating from RC2 to RTM. I haven't done much migration myself, but others seem to indicate the the easy transfer works okay. Also File | Import | Messages and pointing to an old OE store seems to work, as long as that store contains folders.dbx and none of the files are read only. People update and upgrade different ways, so I'm not sure there is a single method. Thanks for the nice comments, but I'm not omniscient. <G> cheers, steve "jbpete" <jbpete@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:3C99114F-9F7E-417A-938B-FD04ACE08917@microsoft.com... > I'm about ready to use my RC2 as my primary OS. | | Re: Possible email migration tutorial? (Maybe for Steve?) What I'm doing is installing my programs, etc. The final is due in 3 weeks and from what I've heard from you folks, there won't be much of a change. I still dual boot with XP. I finally got all the OE Folders with their messages moved by creating a folder on the C: drive and copied all the .dbx files, including "folders.dbx" to that folder. (C:\Mail) Following your advise. Many thanks. On the Import function, it even allowed me to select which OE Folders to Import. Thanks for the help. (Even though I've been kicking around since 3.1, your "putting the back up in a subdirectory" had me going for a while. I think in Folders and Files) ;>) "Steve Cochran" wrote: > Well, I would never use a beta as the primary OS.
