I don't want to reset all my ng's and just have to download all the crap over again. Ideas? Jim? | | Re: Database 256 megs I noticed similar in the Beta's and RC's--each new "peak" in size resulted in an apparently permanent large size--until the next peak. The problem seems to have gone away in RTM, and the size of the mail database is now dynamic as it should be. -- Maxwell Bluemeanie "Mildred Savalier" <itsdilly@nospamcomcast.net> wrote in message news:EDA29555-6CD7-4161-9CBB-D9D921BBB642@microsoft.com... | | Re: Database 256 megs That's normal. Just let it be. It will get even bigger. There is now just one database file and all the messages are listed there (the messages are not stored in the file) and have fields extrapolated from them. | | Re: Database 256 megs I don't know what you mean by the same set of newsgroups. For newsgroups it will depend upon the number of headers downloaded as well as messages. Also the database in XP is completely different from Vista and also the messages are not in the database files, so you can't make a comparison of much value. steve "mayor" <ldontwant@mail.com> wrote in message news:0D7F798C-28FA-435D-89AF-D2865A98BE81@microsoft.com... >I use Windows mail only as a newsgroup reader.
