I have no problem when I post to the msnews groups but when I attempt to
post to my charter.net groups I get this error:

Windows Mail could not post your message. Account: 'nntp.charter.net',
Server: 'nntp.charter.net', Protocol: NNTP, Server Response: '441 Posting
Failed (Rejected by POST filter)', Port: 119, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error:
441, Error Number: 0x800CCCA9

Any idea what this is?

Check to see if the post is MIME or UUENCODED under Tools | Options | Send |
News . Select UUENCODE for the option and see if that makes a difference.

bellsouth.net seems to have done this to prevent mime messages.

mime was checked so I selected UUENCODE and it works perfectly.

I just had this error on DSL setup with ATT. "Steve" pointed me in the right direction about Sending to ngs. I had to close MS Mail and reopen it for the setting to take effect and the post to send successfully. Thanks! The Bellsouth/ATT rep never did find an answer and said she would make a ticket and get back to me next Tuesday. (It's Thursday now.) Why a tech didn't know the answer is beyond me. Or why the default Mail/Ng settings didn't work.
