Cannot delete files from deleted folder

I am having problems getting technical support from Microsoft and Gateway on
this problem I tried for 4 hours last night. I would apreciate any help.

I cannot delete messages from my deleted folder. I also have an email stuck
in my outbox.

I have looked at the suggestions on the message board without any luck.

Please help - I am very close to just sending the computer back and just
using y old one. This is a huge headache.

RE: Cannot delete files from deleted folder

DJ, I may not have a solution to your problem but I had a similar problem and
finally stumbled on right clicking the folder in question and deleting the
items one at a time. If this work around works for you it might be worth
everyone's while for you to post back and save others from the same headache.
All the best, DH

RE: Cannot delete files from deleted folder

I was able to delete about 60 emails that way. Thank you for your input.
Still need to get the oher 120 deleted and the one stuck in the outbox.

Re: Cannot delete files from deleted folder

Do a newsgroup search on MessageStore.
That should bring up several posts with the solution.
Unfortunately the solution is not very simple, and it
may bring only temporary relief. If you are not
comfortable doing the type of technical work required
to replace the MessageStore, you might want to look
into using an alternate email program for now, or
use your ISP's webmail access.

RE: Cannot delete files from deleted folder

I have same problem - this solution works well. Have to put cursor on deleted
folder then right click - don't left click. Then delete each email
individually.

RE: Cannot delete files from deleted folder

Ignore my comment - went back into mail and they were all there again, plus
about 60 others!

We have experienced the same problem - cannot empty Deleted Folder or delete individual items from Deleted Folder.

Right clickng doesn't work.

RE: Cannot delete files from deleted folder

Part of the problem in my case was Spyware Doctor, which clogged everything!
Now removed and all seems well!
