| Guest | Newsgroups I have never really used the discussion groups outside of IE, this is a very basic question do I have to have a pop email address to reply to a posting from Windows Mail, who do I reply to (reply of group reply)? And what is a Newsgroup account and should I be using this to reply? |

Do yourself a favor and switch to a newsreader, such as Windows Mail, which comes with Windows Vista. See http://www.michaelstevenstech.com/ou...snewreader.htm Although that talks about Outllok Express, it's essentially the same in Windows mail. -- Ken Blake - Microsoft MVP Windows: Shell/User Please reply to the newsgroup |

And what is a > Newsgroup account and should I be using this to reply? You do not need a POP3 email address to use news. You should always Reply to Group. Using just Plain Reply replies to the sender and you will find that many, many posters use false addresses, which is a good idea if you don't like spam. A useful fake email address would be KevinGal@fake.invalid .. -- Frank Saunders, MS-MVP OE/WM http://www.fjsmjs.com Answer in newsgroup. Don't expect an answer to email. |

| Guest | Re: Newsgroups If you're using the Microsoft Communities. Tools | Accounts select the account and click Properties. Put it in the Enail field. If you're setting up a different server it should ask you as you set it up, but it goes in the same place.
