| | Why can't I change the location of the message store? I want to change the location of the message store? I use the Tools>Options>Advanced>Maintenance>Store Folder. I set up the folder where I want the store to be. Windows Mail accepts this, and says it will be used after restarting Windows Mail. I restart the program, but the store remains exactly where it was. Am I doing something wrong? Is it something to do with Folder permissions? Steve |

| | RE: Why can't I change the location of the message store? sIt seems to be just a small part of how bad this 'improved utility' is. I have just started communications with aliens from another solar system for help, as Microsoft seem to be out to lunch. "Steve Irving" wrote: > I want to change the location of the message store? Check the Event Viewer to see if it left some clues. |

| | Re: Why can't I change the location of the message store? Yeah, I think most of the time when it fails, the directory permissions are screwed up. Try taking ownership of the directory and then fix the permissions (you might have to do it in Safe mode) and then see if it works. It should work. steve "Steve Irving" <steve.irving2@btinternet.com> wrote in message news:uqiWQK3XHHA.4772@TK2MSFTNGP05.phx.gbl... >I want to change the location of the message store?
