Vista - How to change server type

I mistakenly chose POP3 when setting up my default (AOL) mail account
(incoming server). I am seeking advice as to how to change it to IMAP.
Originally, I was given a choice to select. Now it reads POP3 and I am unable
to delete it or change it.

You can always delete that account, then start a new one:
Tools, Accounts, Add...

If you can't remove it, then just add it back again as a new account.
There's a drop down box on the wizard that lets you select the account type
and you can change it from POP3 to IMAP there. If you still can't delete
the old account (close and reopen and try) then just deselect from including
it when you send and receive.
