Since purchsing a new Vista loaded computer I have been unable to open .pdf

I have Adobe8 loaded but no results. Can anyone help?

Ditch Adob(loat)e and go for Foxit:
http://www.foxitsoftware.com/

N times the functionality at 1/N times the cost, where "N" is any
sufficiently large integer.

I have found that you sometimes have to manually open Foxit the first time.
Usually choosing open with and then navigating to Foxit and checking the box
always use this program to open this kind of file only has to be done once.

Re: Opening .pdf attachments

I saw the following on another newsgroup. I think it answers your question.

"Upon further investigation (meaning buried deep in the Adobe marketing
literature) Adobe fesses up to the fact that they have tested Reader v.8
with
a beta version of Vista and plan on shipping another version which will
provide support for Vista sometime in the future."

Re: Opening .pdf attachments

I have the same problem. I have to save the files to documents or somewhere
convenient, then open them with Reader 8. For older pdf's, they will open
with Acrobat 5 which did install successfully and work, despite messages that
it has a compatibility issue.

Did the same thing. But I had to manually associate Foxit with .puff.

Re: Opening .pdf attachments

For me the solution was on site: 'An utility to unassociate file types
in Windows Vista' (http://tinyurl.com/2ssrlj) - works for doc files as
well.
