setting up email

I can't remember where I wrote down the "POP3" thingy, or the smtp thing
completely either. Can someone just write down the format for these in
setting up Windows Mail? Thanks in advance

Only your ISP or mail provider can tell you what those settings should be.
Typically, your ISP will have a web page listing those settings.

Re: setting up email

How in the world would I know who my isp was if I just set up to pick up the
internet from a router across the hall? You give me way too much credit.
Please start at A-B-C
thanks

Re: setting up email

So, you are "borrowing" your internet connection from someone else?

Generally speaking, you get an email address only if you pay a provider
for service. There are free email providers, but those are not as desirable
as the paid ones. You can use Internet Explorer to go to Yahoo.com
and get a free web mail account there. Or you can go to Msn.com
and get a free Hotmail account. Windows Mail does not work with
any web mail provider like Hotmail or Yahoo.

If the Internet service is in your Dad's name, why don't you try asking him?
Whoever pays for the service should be able to get the settings from the ISP.
