| | Very Slow Opening Vista Mail When I open vista mail, it takes a good 2 to 3 minutes for the inbox to display. This is very annoying. My inbox has exactly 2 messages in it. I do however have several dozen folders with lots and lots (over 250 thousand) of messages in them. OE opened in less then 5 seconds to the inbox. Anyway to speed up this piece of junk. (OUTLOOK is out of the question), and I prefer not to have to change to thunderbird or some other mail program if at all possible. |

| | Re: Very Slow Opening Vista Mail More than likely your anti-virus software is scanning all of the messages. I've got McAfee and that's what it does too. Unfortunately, it also locks up the folders in the process so that I can't see any of the messages. But that's a different thread... | | Re: Very Slow Opening Vista Mail Mike Have you turned off auto compacting so that compacting is not occurring? Tools, Options, Advanced, Maintenance. Change the default 100 to 1 and close Outlook Express. After compacting has completed ruin Disk Defragmenter. Does Outlook Express load any quicker?
