Http no longer supported by vista (utlima let down) I would assume when I
buy a product 5 or 6 times in a row they are all backwards compatable and i
can use the same product after buying the upgrade ?

Seems like a reasonable assumption even though it didn't work this time.
Windows Live Mail Desktop supports HTTP mail (http://ideas.live.com). It's
still beta and has advertising, but some people like it.

Answer in newsgroup. Don't expect an answer to email.
you can use Hot Pop (hot popper) a free program to read hotmail in vista.

That is a very weak answer to why MS is removing features from their
products. Live mail is just a windows explorer. You cannot save the emails
locally (or none that I have found). MS is offering 2 GB, I have 500+ GB of
storage. Very very dissapointing.
It may be a weak answer but no one can answer for Microsoft except
Microsoft. We can only surmise.

Windows Live Mail Desktop is a desktop program for HTTP, POP3 and IMAP mail.
It uses a better interface to HTTP than the old WebDav and runs on your
desktop, not in Internet Explorer.
Sorry you think it's a weak answer, but I didn't write the crap.
