| Guest | importing data from multiple XP address books When I used XP, I had several address books, which I could open separately. I have successfully transferred each .wab file to my VISTA computer, and imported the "main" book into my contacts folder. When I attempted to open one of the "secondary" .wab files, it imported that data into the same contacts folder. I want to have each set of data in its own contacts folder (yes, I can do this by having a different user account, but in XP I could do this all within one user account). Is it possible to do this in VISTA? (I know that I can create more than one contacts folder. But I want each folder to contain data that already exists in previous separate address books) |

| Guest | Re: importing data from multiple XP address books You'll have to do some juggling. Both the Export & Import functions, even if initiated from a subfolder of Contacts, work on the Contacts folder. So for each address book you want in a seperate folder, move any existing contacts you don't want in the folder out of the Contacts folder, import the address book, then move those Contacts into a subfolder. Repeat for as many address books as necessary. -- Good Luck, Keith Microsoft MVP [Windows XP Shell/User] "maryfbcat" <maryfbcat@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:2B1CBEDB-095F-45C9-ACB3-D6083E2C8370@microsoft.com... > When I used XP, I had several address books, which I could open > separately. > I have successfully transferred each .wab file to my VISTA computer, and > imported the "main" book into my contacts folder.
