| | clicking a mailto link in WM In Outlook Express whenever I clicked on an "email address link" , Outlook Ex would automaically open and put the email address in the TO: line allowing me to send email to that address. Now that I use Windows Mail in Vista Ultimate 64bit, when I click on an email address link (wherever this email address link is), the MS Outlook 2007 opens and wants to sent email to that address. I don't use MS Outlook 2007 as my defaul email program so I uninstalled it , hoping that by clicking on an email address link my default email program (i.e. Windows Mail) will open and I can send email to that address. But after uninstalling MS Outlook 2007, now when I click on an email address link nothing happens - no program opens and no action is carried on. Does anyone know anything about this issue ? Thanks |

| | Re: clicking a mailto link in WM The Outlook uninstaller is deficient in that it does not restore the previous default program associations. Regardless of whether Outlook is installed or not, you can go to Default Programs and select Windows Mail to have all three of its defaults. | | Re: clicking a mailto link in WM Steve, with Gary's hint I made Windows Mail my default email prgoram and everything works just fine. I also took note of your hint regarding the need to do it all over again after each Outlook junk mail updates. Thank you very much indeed.
