error message 0x800ccc92

someone pleeeeeeeeese help me, I had windows xp and bought the windows vista
home premium. Everything so far appears to be ok, but when trying to check
email it trys to load then asks for login name and password. I have road
runner, it worked fine prior, but when i enter my info it just goes back to
the password box like i haven't entered it. Then when I exit I get the
following message:
account:'pop-server.nc.rr.com, protocol: POP3, server response:-'ERR
authentication failed: Port:110 secure(SSL) no server Error:0x800ccc90 error
number:0x800ccc92. If anyone can tell me in elementary terms what to do it
will really be appreciated!

RLRN:

It might not help your problem. In my case I chased this problem for four
days. Had Dell, Bellsouth.net and Verizon on the phone a lot. I have
McAfee. I found the security setting for outgoing e-mails in McAfee was set
one click to high.

Good Luck
