Re: E-mail

You say you cannot get it to work. That doesn't give us any
clues to work with. Please provide the exact error message.
The only generic advice I can offer at this point is to make sure
your email account settings are exactly like what your ISP says
they should be.

Re: E-mail

I'm having the same problem ... it started a few days ago ... this is the
error message ... I've contracted my service provider with no luck. I can
receive email but can not send email.
An unknown error has occurred. Subject 'test', Account: 'NAME', Server:
'smtp.charter.net', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '421 Service not
available', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 421, Error Number:

Re: E-mail

I got my Vista last week. Had success with Windows email for a few days,
then realized the program stopped sending out my emails. Could receive
emails just fine. All messages now get stuck in my outbox. My solution:
yahoo.com
Let me know when Microsoft gets this latest problem fixed!

Re: E-mail

Error 421 implies a temporary loss of connectivity.
However, if it persists, and IE has no trouble loading web pages,
then the suspicion falls on your firewall or antivirus program.
As a test, temporarily uninstall your antivirus and/or firewall
program, reboot and try WinMail again.

Re: E-mail

When I send an email, it simply gets stuck in the outbox and goes nowhere.
