Vista - I cannot send mail using Vista Windows, please can you help, Virgin Media unable to help, they do not support Vista

It sounds like your login credentials are corrupted.
Try creating another email account with the same information
as the old one. Then delete the old account. See if it works now.

If this problem happens again, you will need to reign in your
antivirus program:

Wrong server name, wrong port. Check their Web site for how to set up email
and follow the directions for Outlook Express.

Microsoft Product Support Services solved my problem of not being able to
send emails via Vista's Windows Mail

Virgin/NTL's smtp server is "smtp.ntlworld.com"
Their pop3 server is "pop.ntlworld.com"

My bad. I had the subject line in my view pane truncated,
and I was looking at a different thread whose subject line
started out identically:
"I cannot send mail using Vista Windows..."

If you don't know the name of the pop3 incoming mail server
you will have to ask your ISP or mail provider. Alternatively, you
can tell us who that is, and we may be able to look that information
up for you.
