Vista - Can't open attachments

Have Comcast email. When I click to open an attachment, a File Download box
pops up and asks me to either Open, Save or Cancel.

If I click Open or Save, an Install Provider box pops up and asks me to Run,
Download or Cancel.

When I select Run, the attachment program (Word, in this case) opens but the
file doesn't come up. When I select Download, the "progress bar" tells me its
downloading and gives me a trail to where its supposedly saving to on my
computer. But its not saving and it doesn't open.

Basically, I can't open an attachment. Help? Thanks.

Help! I can't open attachment to my e-mail since I changed to Window Vista Home Premium Edition. I have unchecked the do not allow attachments to be opened box under the security topic. I have shut off my Norton Internet Security scanner for my e-mail. What next? Also when I purchased my HP Microsoft XP computer in December I thought it was Vista ready. Too many problems, I almost went back to XP because I couldn't send and receive e-mail. That is now fixed. Will my Norton Antivirus 2007 ever be compatible with Vista?

Have you tried saving them to disk and them opening them?

I would get rid of Norton and find something less invasive. See
