CPU usage still

I've had to deal with Windows Mail taking 100% CPU usage for almost 6 months
now. Nothing suggested here has been able to resolve this issue. My
machine is now really starting to have serious problems, and it's directly
related to Windows Mail. I either need to get this resolved or I need to
switch to Thunderbird. Does anyone have a fix for this beside
rebuilding/repairing the store (which DOES NOT WORK)?

James

What specific operations in Windows Mail generate 100% CPU usage?

What is your CPU and how much RAM memory? How large is your hard
disk and how much free space?

Hope this helps.

Re: CPU usage still

Did you do an upgrade install or a clean install of Vista? I had 100% CPU
issues with several programs, including Windows Mail, after doing an upgrade
install. When I re-did Vista as a clean install, performance improved
markedly.

Re: CPU usage still

2.93GHz CPU with 1.5G RAM. 93G HD with 28G available. All I do is start
Windows Mail and it'll cycle at 100% without me even touching it.

Re: CPU usage still

Its probably making a backup when if first starts, but then it shouldn't be
taking up so much time.

Try opening Windows Calendar and see if that has any affect on WinMail
performance. Some reported that it made a big difference.
