Attachments embed in body

When sending .jpg attachments ....the Attachments are both attached and
embedded in the message. Running Windows Mail, Vista Home Premium Ver 6,
build 6000..... McAfee Security Center...Turning off the Email scanning does
not affect the problem. No Email options address this issue.

Anyone have experience with this problem???

In Windows Mail, TOOLS menu|OPTIONS|SEND tab

Try "send mail in the format in which it was received."

Try PLAIN TEXT for the mail sending choice.

Re: Attachments embed in body

They are only encoded once. Not twice or three times or 100 times, just
once.

They are displayed because Windows Mail (like OE before it) will decode it
and display it for your viewing pleasure.

I doubt the way that we used to turn it off will even work now, most things
in Windows Mail don't seem to function correctly anyway.

So, it's not in there twice, just once.

Re: Attachments embed in body

I like the pix to show up in the body of the e-mail. Sorry you are not happy
with this ... in Options, you can set to read e-mail as plain text. Then, if
there is an e-mail that you wish to see in HTML, you just click on View and
select "Read in HTML" for that particular e-mail. Our family sends the
latest pix we have taken to each other in e-mail. I can click on View or I
can click on File to save the attachments, or both. You can also set your
Send Options to send e-mail as plain text ... down near the bottom ... click
the radio button for plain text. ... vanilla ...

Your problem statement is so confusing that I don't understand it.

RE: Attachments embed in body

I have found no way to exclude attachment photos from the body of my messages
either. Have you?

Re: Attachments embed in body

Attachments are only included in the message once. In plain text messages,
they are displayed at the bottom of the message. You can read messages in
plain text only to prevent that display.
