Folder List always resets to show only Inbox group

Every time I close WMail and reopen, the Folders Pane on the left side
resets itself to show only the Local Folders main group and only the Inbox
folder subset. I can dblclick the Local Folders group and it will display
all the normal folders (outbox, sent items, deleted items, etc. as well as a
couple I created) on the right side view pane. I can dbl click each of
those folders, and they will in turn, appear in their correct placement
under Local Folders pane to the left, in the normal order just like you'd
expect. Went thru every view, layout, options window I can, each setting
has no effect in keeping those folders listed in the left pane. Makes no
difference if the Local Folders view is expanded or compacted. I use WMail
for newsgroups, and they all stay listed just fine under Microsoft
Communities in the left pane. It will even remember whether the group was
expanded or compacted when I closed WMail. But not the Local Folders Group.
Any ideas. Gary...Frank....need help please.

On the left side is there a + in a box in front of Local Folders?
Click it.

Re: Folder List always resets to show only Inbox group

Thanks for getting back with me Frank. The little arrow head thingy points
straight to the right when the folder is compacted and points at a downward
tilt when the folder is expanded. It will always show expanded with ONLY
the Inbox folder showing as its subset whenever I close, then reopen WMail.

The only other group folder there on the left folder pane is the Microsoft
Communities newsgroups folder. It works fine. All the newsgroups are
listed under that group folder, and I can expand the folder, close WMail,
open WMail, and the folder remains expanded as it was when I closed out and
vice versa. I can click the Local Folders group, and all the folders
(outbox, sent items, deleted items, etc) are to the right, in the pane where
new mail and newsgroup postings are. I can dbl click those folders to the
right, and they will obediently move under the Local Folders group in the
left pane, and display the appropriate emails in the right pane. I can dbl
click them all, and have them nicely seated under Local Folders group like
they should be, and whether I keep that group expanded or compacted, if I
close out WMail, then reopen, it goes back to Local Folders expanded in the
left pane (not a big problem) but with only the one Inbox folder as its
subset (definitely the big problem).

Hope I'm being clear about what's going on. While not a programming whiz,
Frank, I do know how to hunt around for settings that might have caused
this, but can find none. Everything looks fine. I did not upgrade to
Vista. Have new dual core, 1 gig ram PC running VHPrem. that also came with
McAfee. I have disabled but not removed that beast, and am using AVG. Also
this problem surfaced after I had the message stuck in my outbox fiasco. I
saved important emails to folder on desktop, deleted the two messagestore
files and after the reboot and reopen had cleared the outbox, restored the
emails to rightful spots. I don't think this current problem surface
immediately after that... but it was close to that time. Hope this is
enough info for someone to figure out an answer. I would like to continue
to use WMail if possible.

I rather forgot what newsgroup I was in and was thinking about Outlook
Express.
If the triangle is solid black and only the Inbox shows I don't have any
idea why.

Re: Folder List always resets to show only Inbox group

Uninstall McAfee and ensure that AVG is not set to scan email (see
www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3).

Only after you have done that, move everything out from under the message
store directory to another directory so that nothing is under that directory
(no subdirectories or anything). Then run WinMail and see if it works okay.
If so, then you can use File | Import and point to the directory to which
you moved the files.
