logon username & password

Hi! I just recently started to get the logon Vista Mail window asking for
username & password everytime I run Windows Mail.
This happened to me today, after a long time I've installed Vista x64
Business. Even when checking "Remember Credentials" or "remember password" in
Tools/accounts/properties", I get the same logon window everytime I run Mail.

Re: logon username & password

Try removing the mail account, closing and reopening WinMail and then add it
back again.

Turn off email scanning in your anti--virus and then try Steve's advice.
What anti-virus?

Re: logon username & password

Read http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3
Then uninstall your antivirus program, reboot, and try Windows Mail
again. If it still won't save the password, create a new email account
with the same settings as the existing account, then delete the
existing account. restart Windows Mail, and it should work now.
After you get your email working again, you will need to install
a non-intrusive antivirus program such as the free AVG or Avast.
Whichever antivirus program you use, be sure to NOT enable its
email scanning option.

Re: logon username & password

I don't use any anti-virus software. I had previously thought about deleting
and reinstalling the accounts, so I tried it. Same problem. This problem is
deeper, maybe in the registry. I am going to explore removing and then
reinstalling Windows Mail.
