Vista - Vista Windows Mail Spell Checker

My email spell checker is not working. When I checked the edb.chk file in
the the Windows Mail folder, it says "Recovered File Fragments" under file
type. I don't know how this file got corrupted.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Ignore the edb.chk file type designation. Its a bug in that that file type
is used by the defragger and by the database. Its not corrupt.

Go to Tools | Options | Spelling and change to another language and hit
Apply and then change back to English and hit Apply and see if that fixes
it.

Hi Lucyg,

Did you manage to fix the spellcheck problem? If yes could you please
share it with me as well. I get error message that spellcheck was
halted do you want to continue (to send the email) and if I try to
check spelling from a new message window it comes up as error 'An error
occured while spelling was checked'

Yes. It's a bit more involved, but it will work. Do the "To Reset Windows Mail" section at this link. However, I would recommend to switch to Windows Live Mail. It is better. You can see details on both at the link below.
