Open Bellsouth Email Attachments

I use Bellsouth for my email. I am unable to open attachments when logged into my email account on a new VISTA machine I just bought. It works fine on my home computer with XP.

The files I cannot open are Word and Excel. When I click on them nothing happens. When I click on properties for the attachment, the screen is blank (or says there is no information) for "name", "protocol," "type," and "address." When I forward the email to my yahoo email account, the attachments open fine on the same VISTA machine.

I have fully licensed versions of the Mircosoft products and I have even tried opening up Word or Excel before trying to open the attachments. I cannot even save them to a file first. The option of saving to a file or opening it does not even come up. It just does nothing.

Since they open fine in yahoo mail, my guess is that there is something incompatible between Bellsouth webmail and VISTA. I use the Kaspersky internet security suite but don't think that could be the problem.

Anyone else experience this?

Re: Open Bellsouth Email Attachments

You might check the bellsouth website troubleshooting FAQs. Its possible
there is a setting there that blocks attachments somewhere in your mail
configuration that you can change, but I don't know.
