Microsoft Knowledge Base

Am I missing something? I cannot see Windows Mail ( or Vista
Mail ) as a Product to enable one to search for relevant Articles!

Re: Microsoft Knowledge Base

Is that because there are no problems with Windows Mail?

Searching for Windows Mail under Vista returns a few articles.
One of the articles states:
Note Windows Mail is a component of Windows Vista.

Put "Windows Vista" in the "product" search field
and "Windows Mail" in the "for" search field.

Re: Microsoft Knowledge Base

Problems? Where?

Outlook Express was a component of earlier versions of Windows but
it was still treated as a separate product for purposes of the
Knowledge Base!

The point of your post is not very clear. Are you asking or telling. If
asking, what do you want to know?

Re: Microsoft Knowledge Base

Richard

Windows Mail does not appear as a separate Product in the Knowledge
Base listing! This is contrary to precedent i.e. Outlook Express was
listed! Why is this? An oversight on a deliberate downgrading of
Window Mail by Microsoft?

Hope this helps.

Re: Microsoft Knowledge Base

I don't know. And frankly, it doesn't make a difference. The knowledgebase
is fully searchable by category (yes, Windows Mail is a searchable
category). It will turn up everything that has to do with WM.

I don't really see any reason for concern.

Re: Microsoft Knowledge Base

Richard

Which Search Engine are we discussing when you use the term fully
searchable?

http://search.microsoft.com/Advanced...n-US&FORM=BAMH

OR

http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1

I know MVP's who prefer to use Google to search the Knowledge Base.

Re: Microsoft Knowledge Base

The search engine on the main knowledgebase web page of course. It is tuned
specifically for the KB.
