Background Color (reading msgs)

I seem to not be able to adjust brightness/contrast very well on my monitor
so I would like to find a way to change the background color of msgs that I
read.

Which graphics/video cared are you using/

Many have software tools for adjusting brightness etc.
even if the Monitor itself has no such function.

Re: Background Color (reading msgs)

You may get better legibility by changing the reading font.
Some fonts use fatter 'pen' strokes than others. Go to Tools >
Options > Read > Fonts. I find that Tahoma looks best on my laptop.

Re: Background Color (reading msgs)

This seems? to be the idea that I am looking for. I went to
control panel>appearance and customization>change the color scheme>windows
classic>advanced>window>etc.
How would I get to a VERY light gray or something besides the glaring white.

Right click a blank spot on the desktop and choose Personalization.
Click Window color and appearance.
Click Open classic appearance properties for more color choices.
Click Advanced.
In the Item drop down box choose Application background.

RE: Background Color (reading msgs)

The whole font and color scheme has been screwed up since o/e.
I spent hours on the phone with microsoft and then they determined that the
user key was damaged. Created a new key....worked fine for 2-3 times and was
screwed up again. Don't think they know where to look. If it affects you in
Word it can be effectively changed by altering the doc1.-template and saving
it.
