Vista - Using gmail in Windows Mail

I need help to get my gmail to work in Windows Mail - I get an error when I
try to set-up.

how can i set up an email account in hotmail to windows mail? dats d only
email account i have dat i would like to add to my windos mail.

The links describe setup for Outlook Express, Windows mail setup is exactly
the same.

Check your settings as per:

Gmail uses different ports.

Outgoing (SMTP) uses 465
Incoming (POP) uses 995

Change them in
Tools - Accounts - highlightyouraccount - Properties - Advanced

also check both boxes: [x] This server requires a secure connection

And often overlooked...

* Did you click 'Save Changes' after enabling POP in Google Mail? To ensure
that Google Mail can communicate with your mail client, make sure you click
'Save Changes' on the 'Forwarding and POP' tab in your Google Mail settings.
