| | emails stuck in deleted folder Hi, I am very very new at all this. I had an email that I deleted and it got transferred into the "deleted" folder. I can not delete it from that folder now. and every day more emails I delete end up the same way (but not all of the ones I delete), so I now I have about 10 emails in the deleted folder and I can not get rid of them. The message I get says "Message could not be displayed Windows Mail encountered an unexpected problem while displaying this message. Check your computer for low memory or low disk space and try again." Help please!!!! Yocky |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Hi, I am very very new at all this. Yocky Give this below a try. It has been know to work: For more information try this link: http://www.vistax64.com/tricks-n-tips/62560-solving-windows-mail-problems.html Hope this helps, Shawn Make sure your Anti-Virus program is set to not scan/filter your E-mail's Spam/Ad-ware. *If you cannot delete messages in the Delete Folder: Warning: You will loose your E-mails 1. close Windows Mail 2. open Start Menu 3. in the start search area type Windowsmail.MSMessageStore (you should only see 2 instances listed) 4. right click each and Delete each instance If for some reason you can't find the Windowsmail.MSMessageStore files in the search, then make sure you have Show hidden files & folders checked in folder options (Control Panel or TOOLS menu) and delete them manually. File locations: 1. C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail 2. C:\Users\(your username)\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail\Backup 5. restart Windows Mail 6. Windows Mail will now rebuild your MessageStore 7. If you have message rules that were tied to a folder that you added (ex: another folder under Inbox), you will need to add that folder again and adjust you message rule to that folder again. It is also reported that having the Empty deleted messages when exiting helps in preventing this. 1. click on Tools (In Windows Mail) 2. click on Options 3. click on Advanced tab 4. click on Maintenance button (bottom right) 5. check Empty messages from the 'Deleted Items' folder on exit 6. click Close & then OK to apply |

| | Re: emails stuck in deleted folder I had hoped so also, but its not that simple. The records in the database have to be deleted externally to WinMail and the only way to do that is to write program to do it, which I did for the outbox. steve "Tom Brown" <Nospam@nospam.net> wrote in message news:eFbQhqymHHA.3736@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... > Steve, > > I thought maybe the "Repair Database" might work. > > Tom > > "Steve Cochran" <scochran@oehelp.com> wrote in message > news:9FDD384D-4743-449E-9791-D9B278ED171A@microsoft.com... >> That won't work for deleted items messages. >> >> Try going to Edit | Empty deleted items several times.
