| | can send messages but they don't arrive I have been happily using Windows Mail since early April when I first got Vista. On Thursday 24 May sent an email from home to work, that didn't arrive. I have since discovered that all messages sent since then haven't not reached the recipient. There are no error messages, and the messages are in the Sent folder. I would be very grateful if anyone could give me some idea why this might be happening. I don't think I've done anything to change any settings! Thanks |

| | Re: can send messages but they don't arrive I have experienced exactly the same problem. I'm running Norton Internet Security 2007 and it is configured to scan e-mails. I have tried sending an e-mail to myself, without success. No problems with e-mails sent to me by others. Any suggestions to rectify this problem? Thanks. | | Re: can send messages but they don't arrive Hi, I've also been using windows mail for a month or two, and now find that as of 25th May I can receive but not send mail. All sent mail shows as sent, moves to the sent items folder but does not arrive. I can't send to myself, and am also using a Dell machine. Internet Security is McAfee - not sure what, but it was the only one I could find locally that was compatible with Vista. Any ideas? | | Re: can send messages but they don't arrive Read http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3 You will need to uninstall the Norton program completely, as it is very detrimental to Windows Mail. Reboot and try Windows Mail again. If it still doesn't work, then Norton has corrupted your mail account. Add a new mail account with the same settings as the old one, then delete the old account. Once you get your email working properly, download and install a less troublesome antivirus program such as the free Avast. Whichever antivirus program you keep, be sure to disable its email scanning option. | | Re: can send messages but they don't arrive Hello Gary I've followed the procedure set out under www.oehelp.com but without success. Furthermore e-mails sent direct from Tiscali webmail are not being delivered although I'm still receiving e-mails though Windows Mail. I'll now try your suggestion to uninstall Norton Internet Security. I've never had any previous problem with Norton in five years of using their anti viruis programs. Thanks for your help.
