| | Vista - Simple Fix for Messages stuck in Outbox |
| |
| 05-30-2007 | #1 |
| | Simple Fix for Messages stuck in Outbox I have had messages stuck in my outbox in Vista Home Premium/Windows Mail for a few days with no content, this somehow prevented my from being . I kept getting error messages when I tried to delete or move them. Microsoft didn't want to help me unless I paid their ransom of $50 because my version of Vista came with my Dell computer. Had I bought the program at a retailer, they will help me for 90 days. Whatever. Dell has been awesome and they finally gave me the simplest solution of all(I have read some of the solutions here and copying and saving all of the emails, deleting Windows Mail and reinstalling Windows mail and then importing the emails back in was daunting and confusing to say the least). The solution was to go to www.oehelp.com/wmutil/ and download the program, unzip it and run it. It automatically detected the bogus emails in my outbox, deleted them and repaired the program. Now those stuck emails are gone and I'm back in business, able to send emails no problem, without having to do all those other steps. I hope that this helps someone like it helped me, not being able to send emails is one of the most frustrating things that can happen to a person! Peace! Jimmy |

| | Re: Simple Fix for Messages stuck in Outbox Thanks dude !! I have the retail version and the solution they give is the one you described (copying and saving all of the emails, deleting Windows Mail and > reinstalling Windows mail and then importing the emails back )... It happened to me at least 5 times > since I installed Vista 2 months ago !!! Geez that OS is buggy.... I never had any problem with Outlook Express in XP pro for 5 years.... Now they release Windows Mails, that should be better (sic) and it's buggy and they don't release any fix ! | | Re: Simple Fix for Messages stuck in Outbox Somehow I missed your utility posted on here "every day". You are my hero Steve, that's awesome that I get to thank you personally, you saved me a huge headache. I guess Ozzie is a Dell hater, they've been nothing but helpful and patient with my dumb ass and all my questions about Vista, so I can't join in on that one.
