I can't send e-mail (yes I read other posts)

I have tried different things. I called my IP, that didn't work, I've
contacted McAfee, uninstalled and got Kaspersky. I have same settings,
software on another pc where I don't have problems with sending e-mails, only
different is I have XP on that one. (that one is suppose to be trashed when
all work on this new pc)
I've moved windows mail folders, but still I can't send mail and I have a
corrupt mail in the outbox that can't be deleted, though this mail was the
last one that actually got to reciver.

Re: I can't send e-mail (yes I read other posts)

The "Clear Outbox" button on my Windows Mail Utility should get rid of the
stuck outbox message. www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/ If not, the post back what
happened when you tried it.

Maiden,

I and several other people have had the same problem. Go to

www.oehelp.com/wmutil

and download Steve Cochran's utility. Then use the utility (after
unzipping) to compact your e-mail and the problem will go away. It worked
for me.

Good luck.

After trying to succesfully download and use WMUtil at least 10 times, I
admit failure. A step by step guide would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,
Wayne

Re: I can't send e-mail (yes I read other posts)

What EXACT problems are you having?
It won't download?
It won't run?
Buttons are grayed out?
No one can help you if you don't give sufficient details.

Re: I can't send e-mail (yes I read other posts)

I click to download WMutil. I click save. In "downloads" I send to desktop.
When I click there to open, my computer goes nuts with everything flashing.
It makes me shutdown with the main button. All zip files do this. Thanks,
Wayne

Re: I can't send e-mail (yes I read other posts)

Why don't you just save it to the desktop in the first place?
As to your zip file problem, you should post to the vista.general group for
help.

The solution to not being able to send emails, have them stuck in the Outbox, and not being able to delete them.

In the past 2 days I've spent almost 24 hours on this problem. I stayed
up all night, got some sleep, and haven't eaten yet today.
I called my ISP, they checked my settings, and then said since I can
receive emails, it is not their problem.
So I called Microsoft, who said since Vista came with my HP laptop it
was HP's problem.
HP disagreed and told me they can't be expected to know everything about
Windows, especially something as specific as the mail, even though they sell
PC's with Windows in them, and sent me back to Microsoft.
Went back to Microsoft who offered to fix the problem for $59. However,
they would not tell me how. My bet would have been to reinstall the
operating system and make me start from the beginning.
I declined Microsoft's offer and went on to TechProLive Support thru
CompUsa. These are the only people who have ever really helped me. In fact
they get inside your computer and do all the work themselves so you can just
sit there and eat bonbons.
The woman at TechProLive worked on my laptop for over an hour, trying a
million different things, and eventually very apologetically gave up.
So as a last ditch effort before slitting my wrists, I downloaded Steve
Cochran's tool. The email in my outbox which had not been able to be
deleted was removed immediately.
I recommend that you skip all other suggestions on this problem and go
directly to Steve's tool for help.

Thank you so much Steve. You deserve the money Bill Gates rips us off
to give us a constant migraine.

Hi Wayne,

Try this other Free Zip program, maybe it'll give you better luck with Zip files. It's called 7-Zip. Download the newest one for your version (32/64) Vista. When you have it installed, run it and click Tools and then Options to set the file types you want associated with it. I suggest checking all of them.

http://www.7-zip.org/

Then try the WMutil. again. Here's my link for help on that with Steve's program. Do this section: For undeletable messages in Outbox:

http://www.vistax64.com/tricks-n-tips/62560-windows-mail-problems.html?ltr=W

Hope this will work for you,
Shawn

P.S.
