Vista - windows mail not accepting my password

i have set up my e-mail in windows mail, it seems to have worked as it's
downloaded my inbox, outbox etc and is allowing me to read them but when i
want to send mail it keeps asking me to verify my username and password, i'm
entering the ones i had for my e-mail account but it won't accept them. my
ISP (who provide my e-mail ) have just advised me to make sure i'm using the
right ones but i definetely am. (i posted this message earlier but it doesn't
seem to have appeared)

Check out "Outgoing Mail Server" section in your Account properties. Some
ISPs require authentication to send messages and some don't. Many ISPs have
setup guides for most of the major e-mail clients. Check there first and
adjust your settings accordingly.
