| | Windows Vista WinMail - Not deleting mail from server I have been using the WinMail that came with vista and like it. I have three accounts - one with Verizon.net, two with AOL. The AOL (which is IMAP) deletes when the items are deleted from the "Delete Items" folder, while the Verizon account doesn't. I have selected deleted from the Deleted Items folder. Is there something else that I need to set/turn on? or do I need to get an update? just puzzing here as to what is not being able to get done by Windows Vista WinMail. |

| Vista x64 Ultimate SP2, Windows 7 Ultimate x64 | Re: Windows Vista WinMail - Not deleting mail from server You will still be protected from Viruses and such from your Antivirus program. It's just that e-mail scanning is a redundent option that has been known to cause problems with Windows Mail. It sounds like you might be leaving a copy of your messages on Verizon.net's server. Check here to be sure this option is off: 1. Click Tools (In Windows Mail) 2. Click Accounts. 3. Click on your E-mail account with Verizon.net and click Properties. 4. Click on the Advanced tab. 5. Uncheck "Leave a copy of messages on server" and click ok to apply. (See screenshot below) ![]() Hope this helps, Shawn |
