WLM contacts import/export

So far WLM contacts management has been a huge time waster for me. I have a
few hundred contacts in .wab addres book form but dont want to import the
whole damn thing. So I carefully selected about 50 frequently used contacts
which I entered manually in WLM contacts. Now I want to save this list in
case something messes up or disaster strikes or have to reinstall my OS. Well
there doesnt appear any way to export it. Did the WLM team actually forget
this option or worse did someone think it not necessary? And will this sort
of reasoning carry over to the final version as well? Please let me know so I
can look at other options for mail clients. Thanks.

You're telling me that Windows Live Mail cannot import from a wab?
Wouldn't it have been easier to import the entire wab then delete what
you don't want from there?

Re: WLM contacts import/export

WLM-specific issues should probably be discussed in the newsgroup
microsoft.public.windows.live.mail.desktop.

Re: WLM contacts import/export

do not have it installed any more, too many problems,
but did you press the ALT key to get the menu up and see if there is an export there under FILE. seems to remember there was .

WLM does not manage .wabs very well, if you delete some things they are NOT
really deleted, but are kept in some corner of the wab file and show up
randomly in the contacts list! I thought to hell with it and started anew
with a select smaller list made up of imported .vcard files.

However that was not the main point I wished to address, and that was the
missing export function. Now I have my carefully nurtured contact list, what
if it gets lost in a system meltdown or I need to transfer it to another PC?
Start anew?
