RE: Can not remove one of my contact inside contact list

I am having the same problem. Had to copy to thumb drive, delete contacts on
XP Home PC then copy back to Vista PC. Vista file works suck!!!! Too many
restrictions, even though I am in as Administrator.

Re: Can not remove one of my contact inside contact list

Well, if u have no problems and are the MS-MVP OE/WM, why not try to see what
may be wrong instead of just saying "no problem here". This only happens
when using windows explorer and browsing the contacts folder. If you right
click on a contact, the little round circle (old hour glass) starts up and
then a window pops up saying windows explorer has stopped working and will be
closed. This doesn't happen with the contents of other folders. What do we
need to fix to correct this problem?

I don't know. I don't have the problem. I suspect that some third party
program is interfering. BTW, MVPs are just volunteers.

Re: Can not remove one of my contact inside contact list

First, he was answering "Anyone face this problem or not?"

Also, if we can't reproduce the error then we can't figure out how to fix
it.

Re: Can not remove one of my contact inside contact list

We volunteers have no say-so over how Microsoft designs programs.
I might add that it is not normal to open Contacts from Windows
Explorer. Why don't you quit doing that if it causes problems.

Re: Can not remove one of my contact inside contact list

If only that were possible, I'd quit doing it via windows explorer. However,
when i click on the Contacts icon in mail, it brings up windows explorer by
itself. If there is another way to modify the contents of the Contacts
folder vie Windows Mail, please let us know.
Thanks in advance!

Re: Can not remove one of my contact inside contact list

I stand corrected. Clicking on Contacts does open it in Windows Explorer,
although that is not immediately apparent (no "Windows Explorer" in
the title bar). Right-clicking on a contact immediately brings up a
standard explorer context menu for me. I don't know why this is not
working for you. I can delete contacts either with the keyboard Delete
key or from the Delete button on the toolbar.

Are you running any non-compatible antivirus like McAfee or Norton?
If so, uninstall it and try again.

Re: Can not remove one of my contact inside contact list

Did you add the undeletable contact manually or was it imported?

Try this. Right click that contact and open the Properties.

General - confirm it has not become re-only.
Security - confirm all permissions are checked except 'special'.
