    Passworded identities

Is there any way of reproducing the Outlook Express feature whereby an
identity could be protected by a password? Applying rules so that e-mails to
an user go to a specific folder is fine, but I can't find a way of making the
e-mails sent to one user confidential. One of the e-mail accounts I use
needs to be kept secure from other users for professional insurance reasons,
and at present I can't see any alternative to either deleting Windows Mail
and downloading Outlook Express, or buying a separate PC for the work
    account. All help welcomed, thanks....

Yes, by buying WMIDs from www.oehelp.com
Be aware that OE's identities never provided any real security for your mail
messages. The only way for more security is in a different, password
    protected, Windows User.

Thanks - this is very helpful and it looks like what I am looking for. But
in the "Switch to" mode will it prompt for a password if one has been set? I
appreciate what you say about real security, but I need to be able to tick
this box in order not to have to go back to OE (which to be honest is a very
    appealing solution right now!)

I really wish I could answer that, but I don't know. However, you should
know that the security offered by OE's identity passwords was very minimal.
Any one with much of any knowledge could read and copy the mail.

    Re: Passworded identities

If you set up a separate account with a password when entring Vista yuor mail
will be separate. I tried this but can not delete the mail from coming in to
the other account because I can't delete the user. Any solutions to this?

I'm not at all sure what you mean.

If "delete the mail from coming in to the other account" means stop the
email from coming into Windows Mail on the other Windows User:
On the other Windows User don't open Windows Mail or else remove the account
from Windows Mail and it won't get the mail. You can also go to the
Advanced Properties of the mail account from Tools | Accounts and set it to
leave a copy on the server, but make sure you also tell it to delete
messages from the server after some number of days.
