| | DELETING UNWANTED LINES FROM INCOMING EMAIL I receive lots of emails from business friends with lots of lines at the bottom pertaining to their respective companies, that I wish to delete, and could do previously by highlighting and right/clicking on delete. This doesn't work for me since I upgraded to Vista and Windows Mail. Is there anything I can do to restore this much missed feature? |

| | Re: DELETING UNWANTED LINES FROM INCOMING EMAIL Where is this feature missing from? Neither Windows Mail nor OE has ever had the capability to edit received emails unless you forward or reply to them. It has to do with preserving the integrity of a received email. | | Re: DELETING UNWANTED LINES FROM INCOMING EMAIL Thank you, Gary. But I can hardly believe your reply. I've been editing incoming mail in XP OE Preview before printing for many years and I've only lost it only recently when moving to Vista and Windows mail - and I miss it so! I thought I must have done something wrong. But if it was just a dream... well, it was a long one... Thanks all the same. | | Re: DELETING UNWANTED LINES FROM INCOMING EMAIL Hi, This workaround appears to still work... Drag the message to the desktop. Open with Notepad or Wordpad. Edit then Save. Drag back into the Windows Mail folder from whence it came. I often do that to eliminate attachments. Hope this helps, Don [MS MVP- IE] "Kenqld" <Kenqld@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:8F32C736-7607-435D-BD72-C5E9A691CAD0@microsoft.com... > > I receive lots of emails from business friends with lots of lines at the > bottom pertaining to their respective companies, that I wish to delete, and > could do previously by highlighting and right/clicking on delete. | | Re: DELETING UNWANTED LINES FROM INCOMING EMAIL Could you please explain exactly how you did it in OE? Because I just tried it, with the preview on, and couldn't do it. In Windows Mail, you can click on Forward, edit the message, hit Save (or Reply), and print it from the Drafts folder.
