| | Not able to delete e mail from deleted items folder I have run two different scan using Micro Trend Housecall and my Mcafee and have found nothing. First error is: "Message could not be displayed." Second error occurs when trying to delete the message from the deleted items folder: "An unknown error has occured" Once the items are in the deleted items folder I am not able to move the messages to any other folders. I am using a Dell XPS computer with vista home premium os. Any assistance in this matter would be greatly apprreciated. Thanks -- Pops Free |

| | RE: Not able to delete e mail from deleted items folder Well the problem seems to have resolved it self. My mail is set up to delete every time I close down. I just kept closing down the e mail client and each time I reopened and checked the deleted items folder one e mail was gone. Now everything seems to be working ok. I did change a couple of things though. 1. Enabled the Allow Scriptlets. You can do this by going to IE/TOOLS/SECURITY/CUSTOM LEVEL/ALLOW SCRIPTLETS/ENABLE 2. OPEN VISTA MAIL/TOOLS/OPTIONS/ADVANCED/CONTACT ATTACHMENT CONVERSION/ASK ME EACH TIME Not to sure this made an difference but for this moment in time my mail is working. Good luck -- Pops Free "PH" wrote: > I am having th same problem. Started two days after installing Vista. McAfee > does not detect a problem. | | RE: Not able to delete e mail from deleted items folder After opening and closing the Windows Mail, several times, rebooting, I was finally able to delete messages in the delete folder. The problem is, the only way to do it was to right click on "empty deleted items folder' and delete. However it would only clear one message at a time and does not empty the folder when I close the program, even though that option is checked. I had 60 plus items in the folder to delete manually, one at a time. This is not a solution.
