| | Re: Getting messages from Microsoft Outlook to Windows mail It means you don't have Outlook installed on the machine you're using to do the import. Windows Mail (like Outlook Express before it) REQUIRES Outlook to be installed, it uses Outlook's "plumbing" to access the .PST file. Install Outlook, open the ..PST file with it, then try your import again. | | Re: Getting messages from Microsoft Outlook to Windows mail Not necessarily. In my case and others, Outlook is installed. There is evidently no reasonable solution. | | Re: Getting messages from Microsoft Outlook to Windows mail If you have trouble opening the .PST file in Outlook, you should consult the experts in the Outlook newsgroup. Most of us Windows Mail experts are not Outlook experts. | Vista 64 | Re: Getting messages from Microsoft Outlook to Windows mail I too have Outlook 2003 installed on my Vista machine but get the same error message when I try to import. I can open the .pst file in Outlook. I've also tried reinstalling Outlook on the Vista machine. Do I have to configure an email account after I install Outlook on the Vista machine too? Any suggestions? Thanks, Jamie |

| Vista 64 | Re: Getting messages from Microsoft Outlook to Windows mail The error message that this post is about. However, problem solved. On the original computer with XP and Outlook 2003 I imported Outlook to OL Express, then imported OLE to Windows Mail on the Vista Machine. Worked fine. Thanks, Jamie |
